Hairstreak - Calycopis cecrops

Hairstreak - Calycopis cecrops
Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, USA
September 16, 2008

Moved
Moved from Butterflies.

Check whether
Dusky-blue Groundstreak occurs in the Houston area.It is certainly in Texas and is hard to separate from the more common and widespread Red-banded Hairstreak.

Thanks
for the help Harry and Ron. I apologize about the incorrect location, I was in Dallas escaping the hurricane. I'm so used to typing in Houston that I forgot. I corrected the mistake.

Check red-banded hairstreak
Not an ID, as I haven't seen any in the flesh, but there are a lot of posts. When shooting, also look for the similar gray hairstreak - no red on underside of wings.
