Weevil - Polydrusus formosus

Weevil - Polydrusus formosus
Neebish Island, Chippewa County, Michigan, USA
June 26, 2005
Size: ~8mm length
I had seen several of these active beetles in marsh weeds near open water. After returning from kayaking, I found one floating in the water near shore. I rescued it with my paddle and it must have been a bit chilled as it offered me several attempts at photographing it.

ID based on other images on BugGuide.
