WBC Brachinus - Lebia grandis

WBC Brachinus - Lebia grandis
World Birding Center HQ at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA
March 15, 2007
Probably impossible to get to species, but seems to at least be from this genus. Eleven species of Brachinus have been collected in Cameron County, the next county east of Hidalgo.

Moved from Bombardier Beetle. Thanks Eric! Ed Riley was here today and made the same suggestion, without even seeing the photo; apparently far from optimal habitat for Brachinus here... A mere 9 species of Lebia on the Cameron COunty list; one in subgenus Loxopeza, the other 8 in subgenus Lebia, for what it's worth.

Not Brachinus.
This is a species of Lebia.
