Meadow Spittlebug - Philaenus spumarius

Meadow Spittlebug - Philaenus spumarius
Greenville, Providence County, Rhode Island, USA
September 19, 2008
Size: 1/4 inch
This tiny leafhopper (I think that's what it is) was on an old stump in my yard. I've rotated the close-up 90 degrees to the right. Maybe it will help with making an ID.
It did leave the stump by one large leap!

Reminds me of a Meadow Spittlebug
I have seen a variation like this before.

I wouldn't rush into that I.D. though..
