Field Cricket - Gryllus alogus - female

Field Cricket - Gryllus alogus - Female
West of Benson, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 9, 2008
In all my years in Arizona, this is the first cricket I have ever seen here.
It was in my backyard after heavy rains. There are only two crickets listed in my
"National Audubon Society Field Guide to the Southwestern States"; one of them being
a Mormon Cricket Anabrus simplex. I searched BugGuide and believe this to be one of
the Field Crickets.

ID is somewhat tentative, but I think probably correct

most likely Gryllus alogus
