Bee 1369 - Andrena crataegi - female

Bee 1369 - Andrena crataegi - Female
Prospect Park, Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, USA
June 8, 2008
Stumped again. It looks like a bit like the mining bees I've found but I'm confused by what I think is a small jugal lobe. A digger bee perhaps?

Subgenus Plastandrena?
John, thanks as always. Have you ever seen one in Prospect Park or anywhere in NYC?

I searched for Andrena crataegi in Bugguide and, given the fairly large distribution shown in Discover Life, I was surprised to find no entries or even a guide page. Should I place a request for one to be created under the subgenus Plastandrena?

We recently published a Prospect Park record
in Table 5 of:

Matteson, K.C., J.S. Ascher, and G. A. Langellotto. 2008. Bee richness and abundance in New York City urban gardens. Annals of the Entomological Society of America. 101. 140-150(11).

Moved
to new guide page.

Andrena female.
The head shot shows the "facial foveae" again. Please see comments on other pair of images.
