Sphinx Moth - Eumorpha fasciatus

Sphinx Moth - Eumorpha fasciatus
Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida, USA
September 20, 2008
Size: 2"
A good example of a sphinx moth?

Excellent photography
This moth is stunning in beauty. I posted a sphinx moth as well. The NJ variety is beautiful, but lacks the festive color.

Nina, with those extra white lines
what do you think of Eumorpha fasciatus - Banded Sphinx?

John and Jane are correct
I mix those two up and need to look at live specimen photos side by side to remind myself which one is which.
Nina

This looked like a white-line
This looked like a white-lined sphinx--aka Hyles lineata
