Cerambycid, found at light - Centrodera decolorata
Dutchess County, New York, USA
June 30, 2005
Size: approx 18mm
Doesn't seem to match any of the images in the Guide.

It doesn't appear to be in the Guide
That is Centrodera decolorata. The large size, uniformly colored elytra, and prominent tubercles on the pronotum really distinguishes this species. These guys really do like lights too. I've pulled a few from light traps and two weeks ago I was sitting at a camp fire when the person next to me was "attacked" by one. He didn't really know me, so he was taken back a bit when I pulled out a vile of alcohol to put it in.

thanks
Hi Chad, many thanks. I've had that experience of yours many a time.... Part and parcel of collecting!
