Collected by R E McKenzie. Awesome buprestid, and since it's been around so long I think its time to put an ID on it, at least to genus I hope.

The genus is Gyascutus (formerly Hippomelas). From the well defined costae and sculptured pronotum it looks to be Gyascutus planicosta.

I have one specimen from Palm
I have one specimen from Palm Springs that has the elytral surface covered with the whitish wax and only the costae visible. Gives it metallic green pin-stripes. Its extremely difficult to collect these without loosing the wax.
