Tree Cricket from southern saskatchewan. - Oecanthus

Tree Cricket from southern saskatchewan. - Oecanthus
Rowan's Ravine Provincial Park near Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
Size: about 1 1/4 inches
This cricket is the first I've seen like this in southern saskatchewan. It hops one big hop at a time. Has a nice criss-cross pattern on the back.

Moved
Moved from Black-horned Tree Cricket. I am moving these images back into Oecanthus. Unfortunately, without a photo of the antennal markings, one cannot say with certainty that this is Black-horned TC. There are 4 species in the non-conifer inhabiting 'nigricornis' group: Black-horned, Prairie, Four-spotted and Fast-calling. The first three are possible in Saskatchewan.
