Beetle sp,

Beetle sp, "red-shouldered" - Saxinis
Cupertino, Santa Clara County, California, USA
May 9, 2008
Size: ~10mm
Common Coleoptera sp, black with red spot on elytra. I find these guys on Wild Rose, Milkweed, Eriogonum and other spp. This shot shows the eye but not the antennae; a second shot shows antennae. Believe these are Chrysomelids, possibly Tribe Clytrini, maybe genera Clytra or Saxinis.(?)
