Gall on oak leaf - Polystepha pilulae

Gall on oak leaf - Polystepha pilulae
Marlton, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
September 17, 2008
Size: Maybe around 5 mm?
I think this is the first one again. I found it open, and shot the inside in case the structure is helpful. Notice the attachment hole. Maybe a predator (Chickadee?) got at it.
