Armpit - Lucilia sericata

Armpit - Lucilia sericata
Newton, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
September 28, 2008
Size: 6 mm
I thought this showed the tan basicosta of L. illustris described in Terry Whitworth's key, but he tells me in email that dark is a more typical color. This is definitely not L. illustris due to other features.

This does show the bare, light colored calypter of the genus.
