Attracted to black light. After much agonizing I decided that the large moth is a 8390.2 Physula albipunctilla, a rather uncommon erebid. The partially cropped picture in the top right corner is of a Sciota univella that had chosen to rest close to the large erebid moth (after initially leaving both moths intact in the photo I later edited it to be as it is now, presumably the most appropriate way to deal with this awkward situation).

Physula albipunctilla
I move this photo to the BugGuide species page for Physula albipunctilla, having convinced myselfe that my ID assignment is correct. The features of this moth regarding the PM, median and AM lines, aside from the "frosted" postmedial area, match well those on posted photos of this species in BugGuide. (I apologize for an error in the Hodges number I had provided in the heading - now corrected).
