Size: ~14 mm
Downy appearance all over. Head, thorax, abdomen orange; very similar to the Downy Leather-wing, Podabrus tomentosus, in family Cantharidae. (tomentose, def: covered with a layer of short, matted hairs, giving a woolly appearance; usually used to describe plants.)

On second look...
I believe you are right. The coloration and robustness of the legs seem more like consors.
