Subgenus Megapterocheilus - Pterocheilus mirandus - Female
Moreno Valley, Riverside County, California, USA
October 26, 2023
Size: 15-20mm
Visiting isocoma menziesii. Spent a long period of time visiting the flowers, allowing photos from several angles. Thanks to Matthias Buck for ID'ing the subgenus. The largest potter wasps I've ever seen, I think it's P. mirandus based on the key and description from A Review of Micropterocheilus (R. Bohart).
