Ground beetle - Harpalus erraticus

Ground beetle - Harpalus erraticus
Plum Island, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
October 2, 2008
Size: 14mm

Thanks Peter
I checked Neartica.com, and they spell it erraticus, so I changed the spelling on the guide page to reflect that.

Please change back to "eraticus"
which is the valid species name by ICZN rules (author's original spelling). Nearctica.com and other similar taxonomic web sites are notoriously incorrect for many of the currently accepted names of carabid species. I never consult theses sites.

Harpalus eraticus
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen. Thanks Tom.

you sure it's spelled with just one 'r'?
*

Thanks
I'll move it to the genus page for now, and give Peter a chance to identify it to species.

Harpalus erraticus* looks good
*misspelled[?] (one 'r') in the BG

I have one of these.
I hope it gets IDed.
