Acrididae sp. - Melanoplus borealis - female

Acrididae sp. - Melanoplus borealis - Female
St-Alexis-des-Monts, Mauricie County, Quebec, Canada
October 4, 2008

after lots of repeat staring at this girl,
I'm pretty fairly convinced that she is M. borealis, a little on the dull side in color. Alternate option would be a dark M. femurrubrum.

Melanoplus species
It's a female, and I can't say for certain which species right now. I will come back to it if I come up with something more definite.
