Beetle on goldenrod bunch gall - Microrhopala vittata

Beetle on goldenrod bunch gall - Microrhopala vittata
Pennypack Restoration Trust, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
September 25, 2008
Size: 5 mm
I found several of these beetles betwen the bunched leaves of goldenrod bunch galls in two different locations and days. They seem to like this habitat. They don't look quite like any of the species of Odontota in the guide. Could they be a different species?

Thanks. The common name goes well with its location.

Microrhopala vittata
