Moth - Manduca rustica

Moth - Manduca rustica
Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 8, 2008
Size: 2 inch X 2 inch
Can you help me identify this? I believe its a type of Spinx Moth but cannot figure out what kind.

Rustic sphinx.
Should be the rustic sphinx, though there may be another similar species here. I saw the caterpillar of one the other day in a wash perpendicular to Valencia just south of Ajo Way. The larva is just as spectacular as the adult moth! Thanks for sharing this image.

Thank you so much!!
