Size: Wing span 52.5 mm
This moth was attracted to a UV lamp at night and photographed using a flash. The eyes gleam brightly and are enhanced here to show the copper color which is typical of this species. Many species of moths have eyes which appear to gleam when bright light is reflected back to the observer. Wing span 52.5 mm Body length 19.3 mm
