i found out what it is. it is a baby praying mantis

Stinging mantis?
Praying mantises can’t really “sting.” Their bodies don’t have an appendage designed for piercing. I was able to get a praying mantis to bite me once. It took some effort, but it did use its mandibles as well as one raptorial claw to deliver an unpleasant pinch. It didn’t break the skin. I don’t mean to sound dismissive- it’s just that there are a lot of peaceful arthropods out there that get blamed for things that they didn’t do. If anyone else has experience with mantis bites, I’d love to hear about it.
