Acmaeodera

Acmaeodera

Methinks
this is A. atactospilota, a highly variable species, but I'm always hesitant to put a name on this one, since its so variable. Setae seems to check out, though--long white hair, especially below, some brown hairs on pronotum and head.

Acmaeodera bowditchi
...was suggested on iNaturalist, with a comment stating specifically that Acmaeodera atactospilota is wrong.

I saw that
...on iNat too. I will agree that this is not that species after collecting some true atactospilota specimens in June.
However, I would still have to disagree with Denanthony on this one. The hair pattern and shape disagree with most bowditchi I've seen and collected (although the pronotum does look similar). Honestly though, I'm not sure about this specimen. I might have seen some similar specimens from the general area, but I don't remember what we have called them. I think this is case where a physical specimen would do wonders.
