small, dark membracid on creosote bush - Centrodontus atlas

small, dark membracid on creosote bush - Centrodontus atlas
Goldfield Mountains, Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
October 11, 2008
Size: ~ 3.5 mm
This one was found together with Multareoides bifurcatus on Creosote Bush, Larrea tridentata. Some individuals were darker in color than this one.

Moved
Moved from Treehoppers.

Centrodontus atlas
Centrodontus, Multareis and Multareoides are all closely related, found on the same plant, and probably represent different degrees of pronotal expansion in the same genus (in which case, the oldest name Centrodontus would apply to all these species).
