Nest of Pipe Organ Mud Dauber - Trypoxylon politum

Nest of Pipe Organ Mud Dauber - Trypoxylon politum
Wayne, Passaic County, New Jersey, USA
October 16, 2008
Size: 17 cm x 14.5 cm
Nest is on a sheltered inner east wall (nest is west-facing) of painted cement blocks in a parking garage (ground level) ca. 8 feet above the floor. It is near a latticework outer wall which provides easy access for the wasps (which I did not see). Note the use of different mud sources.
