must be C. uhleri, rather -- will show to Dr. D.B. Thomas
Moved from Say's Stink Bug.

D. B. Thomas: "prob. uhleri, possibly rossiana"
he's confirmed the rest of uhleri weeded out of the Say's bug page, though. so i feel pretty good.

but you guys stop the nuendo -- take it outside: goodness gracious, all the graffiti you've managed to scribble while i wasn't watching!...

We are chastened
(Eyes downcast, nudging small clump of dirt with feet. Feet unshod.)

Thanks =v=
(Bug was originally - and apparently wrongly - IDed as Say's)

Say's -- that's where the viligent =v= pulled it out from
:))

Much slicker, but that's what being an editor's all about
However, the former writer, now inspired with new creative direction, would put it "ever vigilent", strengthening the modifier while enhancing its spelling. He might even go as far to say "rescued it from". (But said editor closed off the former writer's comment, making such action impossible. Bummer! cries the writer.)

Nay! Don't doubt his spelling acumen...
...for his skills in this area are not dulled!

Explanation: Some time ago, in private correspondence, two editors conspired to form a new word to describe actions both diligent and vigilant in merit. Behold, the word "viligent" was born.

Well you could have let me know!
I feel like the viligidiot.

(Actually, I did not mean to impugn or otherwise tarnish the stellar reputation of said editor =v=. I realize the pressures imposed upon the man from his viligence on behalf of we mere contributors and realize that a person of his genius should be, uh, cut a little slack. See why I need an editor?)

My apologies...
Next time, I will attempt to keep you in the loop -- both entomologically and etymologically.

Hmmm... this phrase may catch on as well. Best you know about it now.

Neat Shot, Ron,
I love how it shows the transparent part of the wings so clearly. Around here the "bugs" the kids call stink bugs are really Tenebrionidae beetles. They're cute, and stand on their heads when disturbed. I've never disturbed them enough to get a good "stink" out of them, though.

Thanks, Micki
Wings are always tough on these, but I do get lucky from time to time. Those beetles can deliver a nasty dose of scent to the eyes, so do caution the kids.
