Checkered Beetle? - Neorthopleura thoracica
Milton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA
July 6, 2005
Size: 6mm
It has the same kind of antennae as the Pilose Checkered Beetle.

Yes, this is a checkered beetle. Should be a new genus for Bugguide! I have a technical paper on checkered beetles of Ohio that I think includes this one, so I'll look it up later.

That would be great if you can find this one in the Ohio papers, and we get a new species for the guide. Thanks Eric.

Orthopleura damicornis. I have the same paper Eric mentioned, and a couple specimens as well.

ID to species
Thanks for getting a name for this beetle, Dennis.
