Mayfly - Hexagenia

Mayfly - Hexagenia
Westfield, Hamilton County, Indiana, USA
May 23, 2024

Moved from Mayflies.

Hi mothmanslover-

This is a mayfly, and as =v= indicated, it is a male imago of genus Hexagenia. I believe it to be either Hexagenia limbata or Hexagenia rigida, both of which are known to be present in Indiana. However, microscopic examination of their male genitalia is required in order to differentiate those species from one another.

Thank you!
Thank you!

You are certainly welcome.
