Hyles lineata? I thought it was a hornworm until I got home and looked at the image more closely. Sorry for the poor image quality this sucker would not sit still!

No apologies necessary, these are perfectly good images! Yes, Hyles lineata. The caterpillars express almost infinite variability in color and pattern.
