Size: over 1 inch
The orange slice was for the birds but these beetles took over. They are metallic green. Are they some kind of junebug?

Check Cotinis mutabilis.
I'm fairly certain C. nitida isn't in Arizona. Beetles are nearly identical, but range differs.

 
Possibly C. mutabilis???
According to the guide adults feed on ripe fruit
