Tibicen resonans
The heavy red and brown maculations coupled with the large size is indicative of the species. These are often confused with T. auletes because their calling songs are similar but T. auletes is slightly larger and has heavier pruinosity.

I'm curious, is October 17th the actual day you photographed this specimen? Seems late but cicadas may be around longer in Florida.

 
I have found them as late as
I have found them as late as thanksgiving on Ft Bragg, NC. That's when I found my last specimen before moving to Oklahoma.

Yes, the picture was taken on Oct. 17. It landed beside me for a few seconds and then flew away.
