Thank you for your kudos, Andy--and I definitely will check out the disjunctus group. I feel so fortunate to get these bee flies identified. There are so many species of them in the desert with most of them handsome and distinctive. Thanks again.

Thanks so much, Joel. It's great to get this identified. We saw a mating pair on 20 March 2006 in the low desert, so I've been trying to figure out the identification for some time.
