Pondhawk Natural Area in Boca Raton, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
July 12, 2024
Size: roughly one inch
While exploring the walking trail at Pondhawk Natural Area in Boca Raton, Florida I noticed this fly that was all business in the front and had a party going on in the back. Not your stock-standard house fly. At first I thought it might be a bee fly since it is sort of mimicking a bee - but I don't think it is in that family. Need help putting a name to this bug.

Belvosia sp. Tachinidae

Thanks for identifying this fly
I was fairly sure the bee fly route was wrong. Thanks for putting the correct name to this fly. Appreciate all the assistance from the BugGuide Family.
