Blue-Faced Meadowhawk - Sympetrum ambiguum - Male
Daphne (Village Point Preserve), Baldwin County, Alabama, USA
November 3, 2008
This is my first Blue-faced Meadowhawk Sympetrum ambiguum. ID is based on Beaton’s Dragonflies & Damselflies of Georgia and the Southeast(1). Blue-faced has black rings on S4-9. Autumn and Ruby Meadowhawks have only lateral and sometimes dorsal black marks.
