Black beetles mating - Meloe - Male Female
Near Hagerstown, Washington County, Maryland, USA
November 5, 2008
Size: Around 1 1/2"
I found this pair on the ground and moved them onto a nearby fence post for this photo.
I think they are a species of ground beetle but not sure.
