Barytachys larva - Tachyura

Barytachys larva - Tachyura
Saline Creek, Miller County, Missouri, USA
July 27, 2024
Collected by Berlese extraction of flood debris and adjacent moist sand on sand/gravel bank of stream.

Identified using Grebennikov & Maddison (2000) and Bousquet (2010).

The most common species of E. (Barytachys) at this site is tripunctatus, and I bet that is what these are. This is likely a 3rd instar, based on the size, and 3rd instars of that species are not described; the 1st and 2nd instars illustrated for this sp aren't a perfect match.
