Dear Rob, I am just gathering all the records of this species and I would like to know if I can use the data of this fly for a potential publication.

Eristalinus taeniops
Feel Free to use any data related to this image and the image itself, for that matter. If you would like a larger version of this pic I would be happy to email a higher rez jpeg.

P.S. Is this insect now common in So Cal?

Thanks a lot!
There is only one published record of this species from Florida from 1985, but none of the bugguiders have ever photographed it there, while several took pictures of it in S-California... That is one of the reasons why I want to document this, so we can see if it spreads further in future...(and I guess it will)
Cheers
Martin
