Rather battered, poor thing, but Polygonia interrogationis? Wooded path, Malden end of the Middlesex Fells.

Sure looks like Question Mark
The hindwing below has the distinctive question mark, and the forewing upperside has the black dash that other commas lack:
I'm not an expert, but I think it's safe to say this is Polygonia interrogationis.
