O. taurus (Sch.)
This is a female of the other widespread introduced Onthophagus sp. - taurus. The males usually have horns on their heads - sometimes very long ones. It has spread quite rapidly - O. gazella not so much.

I've seen records for Rhode Island (pg. 12) and Connecticut, but this may be a new state record for New Hampshire.

I've just checked for Web images of this species. Boy, I can hardly wait to find a major male with those water buffalo horns!

I checked the University of New Hampshire list and O. taurus is not on it. I've e-mailed the curator, Prof. Donald Chandler, and offered him the voucher on this one as soon as I get some better photos of it.
