At first .. I thought it was Earwig young - Haploembia solieri

I flipped many sandstone rocks in search of insects which are hard to find this time of year . I came across these slender bodied fellows under a rock and they scurried for cover under the dry grass . At first I was excited to see a new insect , for me , but then thought that maybe it was just an immature Earwig since I had seen many of those under the cow pies in the field . After closer inspection on the computer , I can see that the foreleg is clubbed probably for digging . Is it possibly a larvae form of a ground beetle ? Thanks for any comments , sincerely Beth

Noticed the swollen tibia (or is that a tarsus?) of the fore legs? those have silk-glands in 'em. :)

1st tarsomere
they build a network of silky tunnels under rocks and move there [forward and in reverse at the same speed] like trains in a toy underground system
