Big-eyed Bug with Prey - Geocoris bullatus

Big-eyed Bug with Prey - Geocoris bullatus
Hampshire County, Massachusetts, USA
July 7, 2005
Size: ~4 mm
Photographed in our lawn, looks like it may be eating a Springtail.

Moved
Moved from Big-eyed Bug.

I
think this is a dark G. bullatus, but I could be wrong. Systematically trying to force it into the other New England species has been futile.

from Merrill Sweet:
"Yes, probably Geocoris bullatus (Say) a highly variable widespread species in temporary habitats, roadsides, gardens."

thanks, Dr. Chandler--
let's put it then on G. bullatus page with your caveat
