Remarks
This subspecies seems very similar to anicia ssp. bernadetta and related populations, but has male genitalia more like E. chalcedona. It seems likely that this type intergrades with insects related to bernadetta eastward, forming a link between those and more typical E. chalcedona westward. Similar populations of E. chalcedona occur northward to the east of the Cascades (with no name given), southward in the Sierra Nevada (usually called ssp. olancha), and also through the the Sonoran, California, and Mojave Desert regions eastward from the California sierras, bearing assorted other names.
