What is this tiny thing?

What is this tiny thing?
Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
Size: less than 1mm
I found hundred of these. They are smaller than a grain of sand and all over my camera lens, camera bag and table. I bought some crickets from pet store on way home from camping trip.

Moved
Moved from Mites and Ticks.

Astigmata
These are Astigmata, likely Tyrophagus (Acaridae) but I can't tell for sure based on this photo. They frequently contaminate cricket food and breeding containers and population growth can occur very rapidly.

Cheers,
Heather

Moved to Acari for expert attention
Moved from ID Request.

A mite of some kind. There are thousands of species, and they can be difficult to identify from photos--but we can always hope. :)

Please click on "edit" and add the sighting date to the Date field.

Thanks--and welcome to BugGuide!
