Caterpillar - Acronicta liturata

Caterpillar - Acronicta liturata
Madera Canyon - Coronado NF, Pima County, Arizona, USA
October 12, 2008
On oak

Moved to Acronicta liturata
Moved from Charred Dagger.

Tentative ID based only on previous ID. Acronicta liturata was raised from synonomy of A. brumosa to full species (1). Brumosa does not range west of central TX. This could be A. wiklei Schmidt & Anweiler, 2020. Nothing is know of the early stages. I think this could be added to liturata to MPG with a [T], tentative, designation if we are fairly confident the brumosa was correct prior to the split.

Moved
We see the two pair of black setae per body segment
