Mycotrupes cartwrighti - Male
Tall Timbers Research Station, Leon County, Florida, USA
This flightless species occurs in red oak woods/pine oak hickory forest habitat in the Red Hills region. They dig ~20cm vertical burrows in sandy clay-loam soil and are most active during the cooler months of the year. In general, specific food sources have not been identified, but I have found a couple of specimens associated with deer and horse dung. There are very few populations known.

Beetles trade
I would like to trade drystock of this species. I have some Lethrinae from Central Asia. Lethroides shoulb be changed to Lethrus. Don't avoid to contact me.

makes the ones I've contributed look sickly. Two species left to add. M. gaigei would be good - a little different looking with the vestigial striae.
