Phanaeus difformis - male

Phanaeus difformis - Male
7.3 miles S of Falfurias, Brooks County, Texas, USA
October 24, 1992

Hello David -
I hear Texas is a big place - could you narrow it down to county, if not a specific locality? Beautiful image, by the way.

Yes:-)
We all want to run down there and get our own specimens:-) LOL! Wouldn't this look great over the fireplace in a dollhouse?

Ooops -
I do forget that people collect these guys. Since I don't, I overlook the tendency for others to do so. Locality in some cases is probably best left out. By the way Eric, your book is outstanding - great work. Definitely the best general guide to narrow down an ID for a new-found six-legged critter.

locality
I don't see any reason to purposely leave out the locality for anything but very localized populations of extremely rare spp. The locality for his one was Brooks County, 7.3 miles S of Falfurias, October 24, 1992.
