Hydrophilidae? - Paracymus subcupreus
Medford, (~25 miles east of Philadelphia, PA) Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
June 1, 2007
Size: ~1.9mm
without magnification I thought this was one of several Shining Flower Beetles I found on this night. But now after seeing the venter under magnification, this appears to be a small Hydrophilidae, possibly Crenitis sp.? Corrections or confirmations welcome :)

Paracymus subcupreus (Say)
Based on range- similar P. confusus ranges south of P. subcupreus in the east.

Paracymus sp.
Based on carinate prosternum and non-pubescent hind femora. Also note the metallic appearance of the specimen.
