Remarks
This small Carmenta species was originally described from Tabasco, Mexico. The first U.S. record was reported from near Portal, Arizona in 1978 (MONA 5.1 Sesioidea/Sesiidae by Eichlin & Duckworth 1988). Our specimens were collected much farther west in the Patagonia Mountains and show that this moth is likely more wide-spread in southern Arizona (William H. Taft, 27 November, 2008).
