Any help would be greatly appreciated. This caterpillar was found walking on the deck rail in October 2008.

Mike says that he has heard that astarte is not found in Texas. We'll try to pursue this.

Its a:
species of Prominent moth. Thats as close as I can get with this one.

I believe you have definitely nailed. This is the caterpillar on the deck.
