I initially missed the crease at the end of the wings. New species for the guide, good work! This wee beastie is ubiquitous in Alberta in the early spring anywhere that there are aspens.

I liked this little guy when I took the picture. I know I was asked earlier to crop the photo for easier ID and I see that you have done that. I went back to my original .TIF file and did a crop on it and un-mask sharpened the image. It is a little more enhanced. Do you want to see the result? if so, shall I up load it and link it to this image so you can judge which image to keep? Thanks again for the ID.

I have linked the enhanced photo. Luckily I used extension tubes/tripod when taking the original shot. As I recall it was about 1/2" or so...the focus came out pretty good all things considered. I hope this enhancement helps you

This is really the original picture

Hi Jason....you intrigued me about getting the original picture...I save most of my pictures over time to a removable Hard drive which I save as a backup in a safety deposit box. I went and got it to see if I had the RAW photo to make another copy....and I did save the RAW photo. So what I did was edit the last submission I made...and over-wrote the picture with this version. So I hope this will be the final word on this...

You might try...

adding another, more closely cropped image, if your resolution allows it. I think that for a relatively plain-looking moth like this, the people who know about moths (not me) will need to see as much detail as you can provide.
